Problem: What data is lost when importing / exporting XER files between Contractor and Project Management
Fix: When importing / exporting XER files between Contractor and Project Management, there is no data loss.  Because Contractor does not have all of the functionality available in Project Management, some of the data will not be available or editable directly in Contractor.  However, changes to fields in Contractor will update all pertinent information and when the project is exported to XER format then imported into Project Management, the data will be available and updated based on the changes made in Contractor.

Primavera Contractor version 5.0 is offered with a limit of 750 (Currently the limit in 4.1) and 2,000 activities. The 2,000 activity limit version has an additional fee.


Due to this limitation, when importing an XER from P5/P6 into Contractor there will be an error message if you exceed the limit for your version of Contractor.  


For example, if you have the Deluxe version of Contractor 5.0 (2000 activity limit), you will get an error if you exceed 2000 activities in the XER when importing like below:



Also, you can only import 1 project at a time.
